Description of the route of The Clwydian Way

Denbighshire is in the northeast corner of Wales, and is connected to the M6 motorway by the M56 & the A55 Express Way.
The start of the Clwydian Way is in Prestatyn and journey times and distances are as follows,
1 hour, 45 miles from the M6 Junction 20,
1 hour, 42 miles from Liverpool,
1½ hours, 65 miles from Manchester,
2½ hours, 115 miles from Birmingham,
4½ hours, 230 miles from London.

Frequent Train services connect Prestatyn to Chester, Manchester & Crewe, with connections to most parts of the UK and some through trains to London taking only 3½ hours.
There is a network of local bus services connecting the principal towns along the Clwydian Way and, on summer Sundays there are also special ramblers Clwydian Ranger bus services.
There are also many local Taxi services.

The Clwydian Way starts in the north of Denbighshire at Prestatyn and, traditionally, you walk clockwise around the county for 122 miles back to Prestatyn.
There is an alternative 30-mile section, which covers of the moorland of Mynydd Hiraethog, Llansannan & Denbigh.

The Clwydian Way guidebook (see the "Trail Guide" page) divides the main trail into 9 parts; with section 10 covering the alternative moorland section.

The main trail gives 9 days walking, covering between 11 & 17 miles each day. 2 additional 15 mile days can be added for the moorland section.
Allowing time to visit some of the many attractions in the area, a 2-week walking holiday can be enjoyed in this unspoilt area of North Wales.
